> Does Master Know?

IQ testAn apprentice asked the Master: “Is there a standard of knowledge for all things?”

Master: “How should I know?”

Apprentice: “Geez…what a letdown.”

Master: “Don’t be diasppointed. How do you know….when I say ‘know’, I don’t really mean ‘not know’?….or, when I say ‘not know,’ I don’t really mean ‘know’?”

The Master continued…

“If a person sleeps in a wet place, he’s likely to get arthritis, right? But, would a mudfish?

If a person tried to live in a tall tree, he woud be afraid, but would a monkey?

People, mudfish, and monkey all live in different places. Where’s the standard?

People eat meat, deers eat grass, crows eat mice, giant centipedes eat snakes. These four animals are all different. Who’s to say which of their diets is right?”

Standards are different for all things, so the standard set by man is by no means the only “certain” standard.
